The Healing Journey

There’s so much anger and misery in the world, sometimes it’s easy to forget one irrefutable truth: God is Love. But how can that be when love seems to be in such short supply? And when the only love we hear about in popular culture is the so-called “love” that takes more than it gives?

True love is never transactional, and God’s love is true. Very simply, that means he loves you even when you turn away from him, even when you deny his existence, even when you try to replace him with other gods, such as money, pleasure, power and yourself.

Even then, God is still there. God is always there, calling, beseeching and waiting, especially when we’re suffering and distraught.

The paradox is that he’s the solution to all our problems, even our self-created problems. And although we may be convinced we don’t need him and don’t want him, there is no life without him.

All true paths lead to him, even paths we have to traverse that are bumpy, frightening and littered with broken dreams That true path is narrow and steep … and your healing journey will take you there.

St. Augustine once said, “God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.” Think about that for a moment. An estimated 120 billion people have existed since the beginning of time, and God is focused on you.

Love is wonderful and strange. Love is simple and true. Love comes from God.
