What Will You Leave?
What kind of mark will you leave in this world,
When it comes your turn to depart?
Will it be lots of houses and gold?
Or a lasting imprint on someone’s heart?
Someone you helped along life’s way,
When the going for them seemed so tough,
You listened, loved and prayed with them,
When material things weren’t enough.
Maybe you lent a shoulder to lean on
Or perhaps even wiped away tears,
Just you and Jesus being there then,
Made it worthwhile and lessened their fears.
So shine your light — no matter how small,
To light the path for a friend in need,
And Jesus will say, when it’s your time to go,
“Well done, faithful servant, Godspeed.”
