Prayer for Emotional Healing
Dear God,
I need You! I need your help today, O Lord. I feel wounded, empty, shut down and depressed. Sometimes I feel hopeless, for I have struggled a long time with these feelings and this interior numbness. As the psalmist wrote, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why so far from my call for help, from my cries of anguish?”
Even so, dear Lord, I trust in you. The Prophet Jeremiah said, “But I call this to mind, as my reason to have hope: The favors of the Lord are not exhausted, his mercies are not spent. They are renewed each morning, so great is his faithfulness.”
O Lord, come then with your healing power, your favors and your mercies, and heal my broken spirit. Renew my failing emotions, O Lord, and recharge me with your spirit of love and joy. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, O Lord, and I will rejoice again with you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
