Many of us reach a crossroads in our lives when someone we love dies, and very often that tragedy can take us in an entirely different direction.
This prayer is from the Sisters of Service in Canada. It borrows the words of Jesus, who said, “I have come to serve.” This was the same Jesus who washed the feet of the Apostles on Holy Thursday, the night before he gave his life as a sacrifice for us. The prayer says, “As I stand at the crossroads of my life, I beg You to show me your will so that I may see the path You have marked out for me.”
I Have Come to Serve
Lord,
As I stand at the crossroads of my life,
I beg You to show me your will
so that I may see the path
You have marked out for me,
For your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and to show light on my path.
All my prayer is that You show me
what You want me to do
and give me the courage to do it.
Give light to my eyes and strength to my feet
that I may hold your hand and walk where You lead.
