Thanksgiving Prayer

Good and gracious God, today and every day,
we give you thanks for your overflowing generosity.
We thank you, in particular this Thanksgiving Day
for our lives and for the gifts of food and family
that we are fortunate to share.

Today we remember those of our family
who have gone to be with You.
Grant us your spiritual blessings and
help us pray for the grace to serve You
in response to your bountiful gifts to us.
May those who have gone before us
continue to intercede and pray for all of us.

Open our hearts to your love so we may help those
who are hungry, alone, sick and suffering from violence.
We make this prayer, as we do all things,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen
